The Lasting Toll of Hunger

Lasting toll of hungerThanksgiving dinners and holiday feasts. They evoke images of full tables and tummies, but please think a minute about people whose plates are empty.

We Need to Be Ready; To Be Ready, We Need You

ShelleyRotondoA message from Chief Executive Officer Shelley Rotondo

As I listened to the news and talked to people about the federal government shutdown, one thing became clear: even in the midst of mixed messages and confusion, we were unanimous in our feelings of frustration.

Voices From the Front Lines

SamanthaPeople across the state provide a window into their world.

A middle-aged woman struggles to put breakfast on the table for grandchildren in her care. A young mother eats what’s leftover once her children are done.

Every year we travel the state talking with people to hear what brings them to food banks and what more they need to feed their families.

When the facility adjoining our existing warehouse became available on Oct. 1, it provided a great opportunity for us to address our growing need for space in Yakima.
