Capacity is more than warehouses, trucks and coolers...
At Northwest Harvest capacity is also a network of hundreds of hunger relief partners statewide.
These organizations from all over Washington were represented at our annual statewide conference in May where they participated in classes, workshops and dynamic talks focusing on the basics and best practices of providing nutritious food efficiently.
The annual conference also allows Northwest Harvest to express our deep appreciation for the dedication and hard work our partners provide to fight hunger in their own communities year-round.
Northwest Harvest’s partnership with more than 360 food banks, meal programs and high-need schools allows us to distribute 26-plus million pounds of food every year to our neighbors in need across Washington. We could not do it without them—we value our partners and take every opportunity we can to hear their stories, solicit their feedback and share ideas.
In addition to the conference, each year Northwest Harvest holds 10 regional meetings to hear firsthand from as many of our partner programs as possible. The series of meetings takes Northwest Harvest staff across the state to the front lines to learn about the needs of those we serve, what we can do better and to stay on top of emerging trends.
Our May conference theme, Mobilize for Success, is just what we aim to enable our partners to do—continue providing critical services their communities depend on but with the knowledge, support and resources of Northwest Harvest and our statewide network behind them. Together, sharing ideas, information and support results in our collective ability to better provide nutritious food to people in need.
