Gleaning pears in YakimaYakima Warehouse

Northwest Harvest delivers more than 6.5 million pounds of food each year to more than 75 hunger relief programs in 14 counties in Central Washington. In addition to securing local produce from growers, we bring staples such as rice beans, pasta, meat and fish into the region to make sure families are provided well-rounded, nutritious meals.

Our partnerships in Central Washington date back to our beginnings in 1967. By providing transportation to move bulk shipments, obtaining volunteers for repacking and gleaning efforts, and responding quickly to growers, we are able to reduce waste, save our agricultural partners money, and feed the hungry with food that might otherwise end up in a landfill.
