Legislative Priorities for Northwest Harvest

Northwest Harvest advocates for access to nutritious food and basic economic security for Washington families in need

Northwest Harvest believes that ending hunger means fighting its root cause—poverty. To this end, we advocate for public policies that 1) promote access to nutritious food, 2) help those who struggle to meet their basic needs, and 3) support budgets that restore our basic safety net with fair and sustainable revenue.

What We’re Advocating For

Northwest Harvest advocates for state and federal policies to increase access to food, housing, health care, and economic stability.

Protect and Strengthen SNAP

SNAP is a first line of defense against hunger. By helping people buy the food they need, SNAP fuels local economies and is a safety net to help people through tough times. Budget cuts to SNAP hurt our communities and threaten to increase hunger, poverty, and poor health for all of us.
