Everyone has the power to make a difference.

Children third grade and older can volunteer when accompanied by an adult. Age 16-17 may volunteer on their own with a parent or guardian's written permission. Some events may allow for younger children to join their families in volunteering.

Schools, day care centers and youth groups can take part in our annual Kids For Cans Food Drive. Each year, these youth organizations have collected tens of thousands of pounds of food for Northwest Harvest. To learn more, contact Food Drive Coordinator Heather Millward at 206.923.7421 or heatherb@northwestharvest.org.

Our youngest supporters have found plenty of creative ways to help those in need. They have held food drives, grocery store collections, penny drives and benefit birthday parties. They have grown gardens, played violin and talked to adults about their concern for children at risk of hunger. Most importantly, they have inspired and encouraged action in people of all ages.
