Northwest Harvest Accepts Donations in Honor of Brenden Foster
November 10, 2008
Brenden Foster wishes to use his last days to help others. The 11 year-old has leukemia, and his doctors believe he has very little time remaining. Brenden wants his name and story to bring attention to fighting hunger, a cause he holds close to his heart.
One of Brenden's final wishes was to visit the shore. A church in Ocean Shores sponsored the trip. While there, Brenden saw the Ocean Shores Food Bank in operation, and realized it was one helped by Northwest Harvest. He also saw a tent city on his way to and from his frequent doctors' appointments, and wanted to help the residents. Brenden's family says that he wants to support an organization that will be around long after he's gone.
At the request of Brenden and his family, Northwest Harvest is collecting funds in Brenden's honor for a fund that will be created in his name. The fund will benefit Northwest Harvest and help us continue to fight hunger in the state of Washington.
We are honored to have been chosen as beneficiary of Brenden's legacy, and will gratefully carry on his name and his commitment to others.
